Correspondence between members of the Howard and Veden families of Wadena, Minnesota, as well as a few school papers, all of which detail the career and activities of Lottie M. Howard while a student at Moorhead Normal School (1895-1896), and as a teacher in schools in Monticello (1896-1898), Staples (1899-1900), and Aldrich (1900-1901), Minnesota. Most of the letters were written to Lottie by her mother, Lovina, and her future husband, John Veden. Only three items (1921, 1925) postdate 1901.
